Strong Sales of New Battery Electric Vehicles Face Tariff Threat

Plugged-In: EV Collision Insights Q1 2025
In Q1 2025, claims frequency for repairable, collision-damaged battery electric vehicles (Ƭ¶à¶à) rose to 3.12% in the U.S. and 4.48% in Canada. That is an increase of approximately 31% in the U.S. and Canada over Q1 2024 and 2% and 4% respectively over the previous quarter. BEV sales remain strong and accounted for more than 9% of new vehicle sales in the U.S. and 10% of new vehicle sales in Canada in March 2025.
